What We Do

At End The TTI, we work to expose, dismantle, and transform the Troubled Teen Industry (TTI) — a network of programs that have harmed countless young people under the guise of “treatment” or “tough love.” Our work is rooted in the belief that real help heals, and that every child deserves care grounded in dignity, safety, and compassion.

    • We push for lasting change through policy and legislative action. Our team collaborates with lawmakers, survivor advocates, and partner organizations to strengthen oversight, increase transparency, and end abusive practices in youth residential programs.

    • We fight for laws that protect children, empower families, and hold institutions accountable.

    • Survivors are at the heart of everything we do. We provide community spaces, resources, and advocacy tools to help survivors share their stories, find support, and reclaim their voices.

    • By amplifying survivor experiences, we bring truth to light and drive the movement toward justice and healing.

    • Many people still don’t know what the Troubled Teen Industry is — or the harm it causes. That’s why we’re committed to raising awareness through public education campaigns, survivor-led storytelling, and partnerships with mental health professionals and educators.

    • We believe that knowledge creates accountability — and that informed communities are essential to change.

    • We can’t end this system alone. End The TTI works alongside advocacy groups, survivors, researchers, and policymakers to create a unified movement for reform.

    • Together, we’re building a safer, more compassionate future for young people everywhere.

    • Our work is driven by a simple truth: no child should ever be harmed in the name of help.

    • Through advocacy, education, and survivor empowerment, we are reimagining what true care looks like — and ensuring that future generations grow up in a system built on healing, not harm.
